Definition:

A tapping machine is a type of machine tool used for processing internal threads with a tap. It is the most widely used type of internal thread processing machine. According to the national machinery industry standards, the series of tapping machines is divided into: bench tapping machines -- semi-automatic bench tapping machines, vertical tapping machines, and horizontal tapping machines. For some reason, an important and widely used classification is not included, which is the articulated arm tapping machine (including hydraulic tapping machines, electric tapping machines, and pneumatic tapping machines).

Types of Tapping Machines

Electric Tapping Machines: Electric tapping machines are divided into manual tapping machines and automatic tapping machines.

Manual Tapping Machine:

  1. Plug in the power socket (220V);
  2. Turn on the control cabinet of the electric tapping machine;
  3. Adjust the speed using the touch screen on the control cabinet;
  4. Set the desired tapping range, for example, for tapping sizes 3-16, set the speed to 2000-3000 RPM; for tapping sizes 18-24, set the speed to 800-1600 RPM; for tapping size 30, set the speed to 500-800 RPM.
  5. There is a black handle on the servo motor with two switches; the top switch is for reverse rotation, and the bottom switch is for forward rotation.

Automatic Tapping Machine:

  1. Plug in the power socket (220V);
  2. Turn on the control cabinet of the electric tapping machine;
  3. Adjust the speed using the touch screen on the control cabinet;
  4. Adjust the number of automatic rotations according to the thread depth, then adjust the speed according to the thread size. For example, for tapping sizes 3-16, set the speed to 2000-3000 RPM; for tapping sizes 18-24, set the speed to 800-1600 RPM; for tapping size 30, set the speed to 500-800 RPM.
  5. After adjusting, press the automatic tapping button on the display screen.
