Equipment Introduction
In metal cutting machine tools, the machine tool used to process gears or turbine wheel teeth is called a gear hobbing machine. Currently, the most widely used gear hobbing machine is the CNC gear hobbing machine.
CNC gear hobbing machines are suitable for batch, small batch, and single-piece production of cylindrical gears and worm gears, and drum-shaped gears with certain parameters can also be continuously hobbed with spline hobbing cutters with a length less than 300 of 6 teeth and above of short spline shafts. Additionally, sprockets can be hobbed with chain sprocket hobbing cutters. When machining cylindrical gears, climb milling and conventional milling hobbing can be used to produce the full tooth width by axial feed (vertical feed). CNC gear hobbing machines hob ordinary worm gears using radial feed. The machine tool adjustment and machining methods for hobbing spline shafts and sprockets are the same as when machining cylindrical spur gears.
