Tips: Difference between brushed and brushless DC motor
- Brushed dc motor is a device to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy or convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. BDC motor is the basis of all motors, it has the characteristics of fast start, timely braking, and smooth speed regulation in a large range, relatively simple control circuit and so on. Brushless dc motor is a typical mechatronics product, which is composed of motor body and driver. Because the brushless DC motor is operated in automatic control, it will not add the starting winding on the rotor like the induction motor started under the frequency conversion speed regulation, and it will not oscillate and lose step when the load suddenly changes. Small and medium capacity BLDC motor permanent magnet, now more use of high magnetic energy product of rare earth Nd-Fe-B material. Therefore, the volume of this is a smaller frame than that of the same capacity three-phase induction motor.
- When the brushed motor work, coil and commutator rotates, magnetic steel and carbon brush does not turn. The alternating change of coil current direction is with the motor rotation of the commutator and brush to complete. There are a lot of differences between brushed and brushless motors. As you can see from the name, brushed motors have carbon brushes while brushless motors have no carbon brushes.
- Brushed motor is a traditional product with relatively stable performance. Brushless motor is an upgrade product, however, its control circuit is more complex, and the aging screening of components is strictly required.
