Tips: Difference between DC servo motor and AC servo motor
DC servo motors are divided into brush type and brushless type. Among them, the brush-type motor has low cost, simple structure, large starting torque, wide speed range, easy control and simple maintenance (carbon brush replacement), but it will produce electromagnetic interference and have requirements for the environment. Therefore, it can be used in general industrial and civil occasions, which are cost-sensitive. In terms of brushless-type motor, it has small volume, light weight, large output, fast response, high speed, small inertia, smooth rotation and stable torque.
DC servo motor is easy to achieve intellectualization, because it has flexible electronic commutation mode, which can commutate square wave or sinusoidal wave. In addition, DC servo motor is free of maintenance and carbon brush loss with high efficiency, low operating temperature, low noise and electromagnetic radiation, as well as long service life, which can be used in various environments.
AC servo motor has a good speed control property, which can achieve smooth control in the whole speed area with almost no oscillation, more than 90% of high efficiency, less heat production, high speed control and high-precision position control (depending on the accuracy of encoder). In rated operating area, it can achieve constant moment, low inertia, low noise, no brush loss and maintenance-free (applicable to dust-free and explosive environment). AC servo motor is also brushless motor, which can be divided into synchronous and asynchronous motors. At present, synchronous motors are commonly used in motion control, because they have large power range, large power, large inertia, low maximum speed and uniform descent with the increase of power. Therefore, they are suitable for low-speed and stable operation.
