Tips: What are the means of (40)A of energy meter 5(40)A?
(40)A on the energy meter refers to the maximum rated current of the energy meter. The energy meter is different from other devices. Its rated current is seriously affected by the environment factors. Therefore, in delivery, a certain margin will be reserved-the practical maximum rated current is 120% of the marked current.
Therefore, if the number in the brackets is 40, its maximum rated current is 48A. If the environment is not too bad, the influence to the maximum rated current will not be up to 20% in normal conditions. Therefore, the energy meter marked 40A has the maximum rated current of about 44A in practical operation.
What will happen if it exceeds the value? The answer is the inaccurate measurement. The measured value might be higher or lower.
